Medical Facility Disaster Training Program: includes three seminars: Disaster Mental Health in the Community (2 hours) targets administrators, department heads and health and safety planners with a focus on using local disaster mental health resources to supplement facility staff and provides insight into how the facility response fits within the larger response of the community. Disaster Leadership (2 hours) targets managers, staff and administration with a focus on organizing their own department's emergency response, dealing with distraught employees, staff family members, and consumers as well as how to support staff during emergency response event. Disaster Mental Health for Medical Providers (30 minutes) presents information to nursing, medical and other clinical staff on recognizing disaster related stress in patients and how to refer them for help. Cost: $2000 per one day training includes all three seminars plus travel. Class size is unlimited and participants may attend the seminar(s) that pertains to their function within the facility.
